The retailer will launch the drink, which is based on a traditional Indian recipe, across 350 of its stores from the end of February.
“The drink differs from its competitors, such as Yop!, not only by its fresh taste but also its entirely natural ingredients,” said Yalp! MD Hayley Hadfield, who spotted an opportunity in the yoghurt drink market while at university.
She added that the “uniqueness” of Yalp! was already generating interest from other multiples.
The unusual blend of fruit and yoghurt was sure to appeal to consumers, said Morrisons buyer Paul Allman “We loved the concept of a lassi drink and wanted to offer our customers a fresh version of the product,” he added.
Yalp! will arrive on shelf from the 26 February, rsp £1.29 for a 250ml bottle.
