Pernod Ricard is upping the stakes in the red wine market with price cuts and new launches within its South African Long Mountain range. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot Shiraz have been permanently reduced from £5.49 to £4.99 and a Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon (rsp: £4.99) has been introduced. Marketing director Sophie Gallois said: "Three versions of Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon are among the top 10 New World wines in the UK, but until now South Africa has not been able to offer the style." The company is also replacing Long Mountain Dry Red for a Ruby Cabernet (rsp: £4.49). Gallois added: "The brand's red wine sources are now excellent which allows us to price the wines competitively." {{DRINKS }}
