An all-party group of MPs has announced it is planning to hold an inquiry into milk pricing.
The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee, which scrutinises areas Defra is responsible for, invited interested parties to submit evidence by January 9.
In its announcement it said: “The terms of reference are simply: the committee will examine the market price and farmgate price of milk, and will investigate why recent rises in the former have not led to increases in the latter.”
It will also hold oral evidence sessions where MPs will cross examine industry figures.
