Support for UK cheese Waitrose has confirmed it will be continuing its sponsorship of the British Cheese Festival this year as the event expands into a new venue. The retailer sponsored last year's festival and the British Cheese Awards at Stow-on-the-Wold, which attracted more than 10,000 visitors. This year it will be moved to Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire to take place on September 27-29. The first day of the festival, which will be open to the trade only, will include symposiums and judging, and will be followed by a weekend open to the public when 700 cheese are expected to be exhibited. Waitrose md Steven Esom said: "We are keen to bring a knowledge of cheese to a wider audience. And we want to celebrate this country's cheese pedigree by acknowledging the best cheesemakers, both large and small." {{NEWS }}
