Nestlé said its waters unit in Germany is to sell 51% of its drinks logistic arm Trinks to a group of German breweries.

Trinks generated almost half of its 1bn euros turnover in 2002 from the beer sector and 40% from mineral waters, Nestlé said.

The breweries involved in the deal are Krombacher, Radeberger and Warsteiner Brauerei Haus Cramer.

Nestlé added that its remaining 46% stake would be reduced further over time.
