Nestlé has posted a drop of 6.2% in first half sales fell but the Swiss food giant issued an upbeat forecast for the rest of the year.

The maker of Nescafé coffee, Perrier water and Kit Kat chocolate, said sales fell to SF41.4bn from SF44.2bn.

Operating profit declined 4.5% to SF5.04bn from SF5.3bn due to the strong Swiss franc, the company said.

Nestlé said it expects organic growth for the full-year of between 5% and 6%.
