France’s largest independent family grower, Grassa, has blended a new range of wines, which are listed at Somerfield.
The four Côtes de Gascogne wines - Tariquet Vin de Pays des Côtes de Gascogne (rsp: £4.99), Tariquet Sauvignon and Tariquet
Chardonnay (£6.99) and Tariquet Rosé (£5.99) - are available in either a synthetic-cork or a screw-top bottle.
Winemaker Yves Grassa said: “We needed the packaging to reinforce the heritage and provenance of the brand while giving it a clear, elegant identity.”
Château du Tariquet has also launched a range of five cask-strength armagnacs, aged for 15 years in old Chardonnay barrels and ranging in price from £58 to £103. Each of the Les Degrés Naturels range is identified by the alcoholic degree on the label, including 49.5° and 53.3°.
