Whyte & Mackay is taking on Diageo with a range of stylish, ready-to-serve cocktails with a bigger punch than their Smirnoff rivals.

The four-strong VnC Cocktails will be distributed in the UK off-trade next month by Whyte & Mackay following a deal with its New Zealand-based owner. Available in Pacific Mai Tai, Strawberry Daiquiri, Mojito and Margarita, the 70cl cartons are £2.05 cheaper than the same-sized Smirnoff Perfect Pour Cocktails, officially launched last month. They also have an abv of 13.9% compared with 12.5% for Diageo's range.

The packaging for VnC features wide, Thermos-style lids while the website highlights the New Zealand heritage of the brand, owned by Shane McKillen, the founder of 42 Below vodka. "VnC allows us to provide quality cocktails, good trade margins and a taste that is never compromised as they are all made with 100% fresh fruit," said Whyte & Mackay.
