Cornwall three weeks early The Cornish new potato season is in full swing, with harvesting up on last year, although yields are slightly down at 12 tonnes/ha. The £5.5m crop is up to three weeks earlier thanks to ideal growing conditions. Grower Mark Rowe air lifted his crop from Penzance to London to launch the season. The British Potato Council is undertaking intensive promotional work throughout the UK over the next three months as other areas start to lift, concentrating on consumer education. {{FRESH PRODUCE }}
