Children’s food brand Annabel Karmel has added a range of kids frozen meals to its portfolio called Annabel’s Favourites.
Four flavours will be available from 26 September in 216 Tesco stores: Mummy’s Fish Pie; Chicken, Tomato & Mascarpone Pasta; Tasty Beef Cottage Pie; and Hidden Veggie Bolognese (rsp: £2/200g). Further recipes are being developed for a wider rollout.
The meals contain British beef and responsibly sourced fish, with no artificial additives or preservatives.
“Premiumisation backed by value in the category is certainly helping frozen to slowly de-ice itself of those perceptions around poor quality and inferiority over fresh, but we need to continue to rally shopper confidence through further innovation in taste, quality and nutrition,” said founder Annabel Karmel.
“Our standout meals backed up by a strong price point will ensure that we reach the baskets of all families - scratch cookers, fresh and frozen shoppers alike,” added the brand’s head of PR and marketing Sarah Smith. “As demand for balanced go-to solutions for busy days continues to grow, it was only natural to extend our wholesome offering to the freezer.”
