Carling owner Molson Coors has upped its ability to brew niche ales after opening its new William Worthington’s Brewery.

The site opened in Burton-on-Trent yesterday and will be “a hub for continuous new ale development,” according to Molson UK boss Mark Hunter (pictured).

The facility will produce limited edition and seasonal brews, as well as Molson’s Worthington’s brands such as White Shield.

The site will also celebrate the heritage of the 250-year old Worthington’s brand with a visitor’s centre.

“The opening of the William Worthington’s Brewery marks our continued investment in craft ale,” said Hunter.
