Nisa has posted record recruitment figures - and boosted its turnover by nearly £104m.

The retail buying group has signed up 245 new members and more than 520 stores since April last year equating to £103.7m in new turnover.

“These excellent results are testament to the strength of the Nisa retail member solutions on offer today,” said Nisa group sales director Andrew Mouse.

“They acknowledge the enhanced level of retail support available to all members, helping them to develop all aspects of their stores.”

Nisa has recruited a number of high-profile members in the past year. It attracted two from Costcutter: holiday park retailer J&J Wilson, which has 70 stores and retail symbol group RedOrange, which has 36. It also signed up confectionery buying group Sugro UK and Scotmid Co-op’s pharmacy chain Semichem.

The bumper recruitment figures exceed Nisa’s record figures for 2011, when it secured 234 new members, equating to 487 new stores.

However, it is set to lose its biggest member, Costcutter, next July when the c-store chain switches its distribution contract to P&H.
