Nocton Dairies has complained to the ASA about a leaflet issued by a campaign group opposed to its planned superdairy in rural Lincolnshire.

The leaflet, issued by the Campaign Against Factory Farming Operations (CAFFO), makes claims relating to Nocton's proposal, such as "the existence of the superdairy will depress farmgate prices putting the majority of traditional dairy farms in financial jeopardy". Nocton Dairies said it misquotes and speculates, and has outlined to the ASA 11 challenges to the leaflet, including the use of "irrelevant" data to imply house prices around the proposed dairy would fall if it obtained planning permission.

CAFFO said the leaflet had been cleared by legal experts, branding Nocton's complaints "absolute nonsense".
