Nocton Dairies' application to establish a mega dairy herd in Lincolnshire will go ahead despite the withdrawal of support from a neighbouring farm.

Nocton had planned to spread digestate fertiliser on 2,000 acres of farmland owned by Patrick Dean Ltd. Dean has cancelled the arrangement due to fears about negative publicity.

Dean's decision "doesn't change anything" and Nocton still intended to re-submit its application, said a spokeswoman. The amount of land that would no longer be available was "not huge," and the company still had 12,000 acres available for spreading.
