Playmobil will be rolling out series two of its blind-packed figures (rsp: £1.99) to Tesco and Sainsbury’s early next month.

The range was launched last summer and, despite having limited distribution through supermarkets, was the brand’s biggest seller by volume in 2011, with sales of around 400,000 packs by the end of the year.

Playmobil said much of the success of the range was because parts could be mixed between toys to create new characters.
