Ocado has launched a dedicated microsite for new parents to help them source nutritious food to suit each stage of pregnancy and early parenthood.

The online grocer has developed the new ‘aisle,’ at ocado.com/parenting, with nutrition expert Charlotte Watts, author of 100 Best Foods for Pregnancy. It is divided into five categories: getting pregnant, during pregnancy, postnatal women, breastfeeding and new parents.

The aim was to help busy parents stock up on healthy meals, said Watts. “Lots of new parents’ own nutrition is one of the first things to be forgotten when working out how to deal with their new arrival.”

Research commissioned by Ocado suggested two thirds (57%) of new mothers were forgetting to eat three meals a day, most frequently missing breakfast. Two thirds (63%) said they turned to ready meals and takeaways as they didn’t have time to shop for fresh ingredients.
