The Office of Fair Trading has reshuffled its milk price-fixing investigation following its £100,000 payout and apology to Morrisons.

The head of the investigation will now report directly into OFT CEO John Fingleton, according to the Financial Times.

Yesterday, the OFT apologised to Morrisons for wrongly claiming the supermarket chain was involved in milk price-fixing and paid the chain £100,000 in damages.

“Quite a lot of humble pie is being eaten by the OFT,” a person involved in the case told the paper. “I think they will be much more careful as we move forward.”
