Sir; I write concerning your feature on GDAs versus traffic lights as forms of labelling on the front of food packs. As a lowly packaging printer carrying out jobs for many of the main brands, my company is forever working on both of these and it has to be said that the Tesco GDA is great to print and the traffic light scheme is a nightmare.

I won't go into technical details, but suffice to say that a few small changes would make life so much easier for us all and make packs look better as well. If only those who designed these logos spoke to a variety of printers before national launches, they could make them look better, save my company a lot of headaches, plus save money for all our customers as well. Please, don't even get me started on the Assured Food Standards logo.
