Made by Benedictine monks in Devon, Buckfast tonic wine has long been a favourite - curiously - of the booze lovers of Glasgow.

Unfortunately, Buckie has gained a certain notoriety. So much so, in fact, that Strathclyde Police has been asking shops to attach special labels to bottles, so they can be traced if they’re linked to crime.

Distributor J Chandler & Co feels its brand is being victimised and is taking legal action. As for the monks, presumably they agree the labels are well (ahem) out of order.
