2007 has been a good year for Caravan and as the year draws to a close, we couldn't have asked for a better end.
The annual Sporting Heroes Luncheon was the final highlight of the social and professional calendar.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone at the event, we raised more than £146,000 through sponsorship, ticket sales and proceeds from the raffle and auction, ensuring we are able to continue to support the real heroes - beneficiaries who really need our help.
Alongside our 800 guests were ITV sports presenter Jim Rosenthal, former world snooker champion Dennis Taylor, and former Olympic champions Tessa Sanderson CBE and Steve Backley OBE.
The Caravan Achievement Awards were launched at the event. The scheme is designed to provide public recognition to companies that actively support the charity and recognise that support for Caravan comes in many forms and is not always related to financial donations.
Donations are a vital element for Caravan, but we want to show recognition to companies that dedicate time and effort in other ways, such as supporting local events, as all contributions to our cause are gratefully received and extremely important. Any company who supports Caravan, no matter how large or small, can be recognised with an Achievement Award.
