A few weeks ago, Bogof suggested some grocery-related attractions to keep the kids busy in the holidays (did anyone try out the Museum of Burnt Food?).

Now it has emerged that in the Croatian town of Belica, officials have started work on a park dedicated to the potato. It will include a potato-themed play park for children with swings and slides shaped like potatoes, and information plaques explaining about the different varieties of potato.

The potato was chosen as the theme after it was nominated by the powerful local farmers' union. A potato monument has been erected that dwarfs nearby statues dedicated to the heroes of WWI, WWII and the War of Independence in Croatia
