The organic line, which will be launched later this year, will join the existing mild, medium, mature and vintage Cheddars in DFB's Cadog portfolio. The new line will be packaged in green and Cadog will also change the look of its Cadog Vintage brand from dark green to black. "This plays to consumer associations with sophistication, substance and strength," said marketing manager for cheese Mike Whetter.
Cadog is stocked throughout Wales and Cadog Export is also sold in Asda stores in England.
Meanwhile, Fayrefield Foods has launched Be my Guest, an eight-week campaign to boost sales of its Colliers Powerful Welsh Cheddar. The Be My Guest competition offers consumers the chance to win a stay including dinner at chef Matt Tebbutt's Foxhunter restaurant.
