SimplyOrganic Food Company is to extend its virtual supermarket with the launch of an organic wine club in the next four weeks. It plans to offer wines from around £5 a bottle, sourced from a handful of small continental growers at its web site, and though mail order. Marketing director Simon Grant said: "We will be selling the wine by the half case to encourage trial. As the suppliers we have picked cannot supply at volume, we will regularly rotate and change the wines on offer." SimplyOrganic, which recently celebrated its second birthday, is expanding aggressively nationwide. Some 1,750 organically certified items are available in the new spring catalogue, with the main additions found in the ready meal range. All new customers will be sent an £8.99 basket of organic vegetables with their first order from the collection. Grant said: "We courier orders overnight, with a £5 delivery charge. The service is going down particularly well in Yorkshire, Wales and the south. In London there is less call for a delivered service." SimplyOrganic is moving toward one stop shop status with a 50 organic lifestyle' lines this season, including self-powered radios and organic cotton clothing. {{NEWS }}
