Yet another logo attesting to the green credentials of a few livestock farmers could soon be jostling for space on beef and lamb retail pack labels. This time the sponsor is the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, which plans to start by offering its members meat from animals grazing its own nature reserves. But with a strategy reminiscent of the RSPCA's, the society hopes to persuade the multiples to take seriously its endorsement of product from farms approved as managed on principles protecting the welfare of its favourite livestock. {{M/E MEAT }}
