Panda is giving its Comfits range a retro relaunch to cash in on the nostalgic confectionery trend.

The range has been rebranded as Torpedos a name the company said was "always used by loyal fans", and goes on-shelf next month. Three new flavours lemon, peppermint and aniseed were also being added to the mix, said international marketing manager Lisa Gawthorne.

"Bringing the Torpedos name back will help build on Comfits' 114.3% year-on-year growth by tapping consumer demand for retro confectionery," she said.
