P&G has poured cold water on reports it is looking to offload its underperforming Sunny Delight and Pringles brands and concentrate on household and laundry instead. Speculation was prompted by comments from P&G chief executive Allan Lafley to analysts' that the company would not tolerate poor performance in its portfolio. A company spokeswoman stressed P&G had "no plans" to sell either brand and remained fully committed to its food and beverage brands. "Pringles are starting to bounce back, and Sunny D is doing very well in France, Spain and Portugal. The situation in north America is also stabilising now." l P&G's $4.95bn deal to buy the Clairol shampoo and hair dye business from Bristol-Myers Squibb has been cleared by regulators. {{NEWS }}
