Tesco Finest heads the shortlist for this year's Pasta Challenge Awards, with five out of the 37 finalists coming from the range. The awards, organised by the UK pasta industry and backed by The Grocer, are for "a combination of product innovation, consumer appeal and switched on marketing". They will be presented at the London Hilton on October 25  World Pasta Day. The shortlist includes a new category for products launched within six months. There were so many entries for this that it was split into dry and wet sectors. The new category's popularity meant a shortage of ambient and frozen pasta entries so they were added to the new products. The new and dry sector has the largest shortlist, with 10 finalists, while new and wet has five. Other categories are: canned with four; chilled/ fresh with eight; pasta sauces with six; and organic with three. {{NEWS }}
