Andrew Large has stepped down after three years at the helm of the British Poultry Council.
The former CEO left his post last week after leading the BPC through a number of major challenges including tackling campylobacter and avian influenza.
“The BPC board would like to thank Andrew Large for guiding the British poultry meat sector through some of its most challenging times,” said BPC chairman John Reed. “Andrew has done a huge amount to set a clear direction and reposition BPC to respond to the rapid changes in the food sector and the regulatory environment.”
The BPC board is looking for a new CEO to replace Large, who is now working as a consultant for the Trade Association Forum, where he was previously chairman.
“I would like to wish both my successor and the UK poultry industry the best of luck. Poultry meat has a very bright future and I look forward to seeing the industry grow and develop,” said Large.
Large joined the BPC in May 2013 as a replacement for Peter Bradnock, who retired after 22 years as CEO.
