Paralympic Games sponsor Sainsbury’s has opened a new convenience store close to the olympic Park in London.

The store, in Stratford East Village, opened this week, creating 25 jobs. It has an in-store bakery and a pizza counter.

It was officially opened by Sainsbury’s Active Kids ambassador Ellie Simmonds, who won four golds at the Paralympics in 2012.

“I do a lot of work encouraging schoolchildren to get involved in sport as part of my role, but it is always really nice to get out into stores and meet with Sainsbury’s colleagues too, and this one is extra special since it is so close to the Olympic Park, which brings back great memories,” Simmonds said.
