Premier Foods’ bakery boss Iwan Williams has been given a wider remit overseeing the company’s grocery and bakery businesses, after Graham Hunter turned down the job of heading up grocery.

Hunter had been due to become Premier’s grocery MD at the beginning of the year following the departure of COO Tim Kelly in October. However, he pulled out at the last minute to become Tangerine Confectionery’s new CEO.

Williams will now take charge of both the grocery and bakery sides of Premier’s operations.

Meanwhile, Premier this week announced plans to slash 600 jobs in order to free up financing for the company’s recovery plan.
