Former Grocer journalist and food analyst Richard Ford has joined retail design consultancy Sherlock Studio as business development manager.
Ford, who worked as deputy fresh foods editor on The Grocer before joining global market and trends consultancy Mintel Group as a senior food and drink analyst, will report directly to Sherlock Studio’s founding directors, Tony Lock and Robert Sherburn.
He will be responsible for managing existing client relationships, nurturing new business and handling the studio’s PR and marketing strategy.
Lock said the past few years had been spent refining the business’s identity, building the brand, and compiling a portfolio of leading clients in the retail food and drink space.
“We now aim to extend and broaden our reach through sustainable organic growth,” he said.
“Rob and I are really excited to start 2016 by welcoming Rich to the team. His in-depth knowledge of the food and drink sector together with his energy and enthusiasm will be of significant value to our clients.”
