Wells and Young’s has appointed Nestlé Cereals marketing controller Phil Toms as its new director of brands.

In a new role for the brewer, Toms’ remit will include brand marketing, PR and consumer insight.

“Phil has a proven track record in developing brand performance at Nestlé Cereals, and has a keen understanding of consumer needs,” said commercial director David Revell.

“This will be invaluable as he shapes our strategy to build on the individual strengths of a diverse portfolio that encompasses established favourites like Wells Bombardier right through to the niche beers such as banana Bread beer and Young’s Double Chocolate Stout.”
