Representatives of the Bakers, Food & Allied Workers Union have briefed staff at the Blackpool factory, where Jammie Dodgers are made, on the benefits of the pay package ahead of the new vote this weekend.
The union-endorsed offer of a 3% pay rise to be followed by another 3% increase in January was thrown out by members last week. A union official blamed management's refusal to include three months back pay in the offer.
Burton's Foods maintained that the offer was fair. "The latest pay package, supported by BFAWU representatives, remains a reasonable compromise and the company will continue working with the union to reach an agreement."
