Scottish independent retailer David Sands has hailed its stall at music festival T in the Park "a resounding success".

In five days of trading, The Healthy T Shop turned over about the same amount as one of Sands's medium-sized stores takes in a week. The stall sold food and drink, including Eat Fresh sandwiches, fruit pots and salads made in its new Central Kitchen factory in nearby Kinross.

"We'd been talking to the organisers about running a campsite shop at the event for a couple of years but it all came together this year," said chief operating officer Ewen Chisholm. "Manager Craig Watts and his team worked around the clock to meet demand. Our new facility has running for only a few weeks, so T in the Park presented a massive challenge."

Chisholm said he was already talking to festival organisers about the stall returning next year.
