Caravan raised a record £276,000 at its annual Diamond Ball, held in London last week.

A special ‘money can’t buy’ auction of tickets for the men’s 100m Olympics final raised £20,700 for the grocery charity, which supports former grocery workers who have fallen on hard times. The annual grand raffle of 35 prizes added £10,900 to the fund.

Caravan said the amount raised would enable it to look after at least 184 beneficiaries in the coming 12 months.
