Oakland’s new managers come from different parts of the business

Oakland International has promoted nine employees after they successfully graduated from its management development programme (MDP).

The programme, which has seen more than 26 people in the last three years graduate from the internal training academy, is designed to nurture talent and develop skill within the business.

“Oakland International’s long-term objectives are to build skills and competencies for the future and to provide our people with employability skills which can be transferred across our business as their career develops,” said Oakland International HR and purchasing director David Hoey.

“Producing high-calibre young managers with the ability to both perform now and grow into their roles is crucial to our plans and is one of our key priorities.”

He added: “Taking part in MDP training has delivered opportunity for growth and job progression for many within Oakland, and we congratulate each and every one of our nine MDP graduates on their promotion.”

The graduates come from a range of areas in the business and include sales and new business development managers, operational administrators, wholesale supervisors, contract packing supervisors, and customer support and development managers.
