PepsiCo UK plans to up its ad spend by a third in 2005, according to its incoming vice president sales Andy Williams.

He told The Grocer that with a number of major launches planned for 2005, including Quaker Seasons and Walkers Potato Heads (The Grocer, November 13), the company would be looking for maximum exposure.

“We are placing bigger bets on bigger scale launches, we are making big activity very significant, Seasons is an example of this.”

Williams is currently wrapping up his role as regional vice president for Pepsi, and will have a handover period with his predecessor Tom Kuzio in January before Kuzio returns to the US in February.

In his new role as vice president PepsiCo International, Kuzio said he planned to set up an international centre of excellence for key sales personnel, and would be looking to extend PepsiCo’s penetration into the foodservice sector.
