Venning was previously global marketing director at Drambuie, prior to which he was marketing manager at Birds Eye Wall’s overseeing brands such as Magnum, Cornetto and Solero.
He will oversee key brands such as Jacob’s Creek and Wyndham Estate and replaces Chris Seale, who has the new role of prestige on-trade director.
Ursell comes from Manor Bakeries where she was marketing director, with Mr Kipling and Cadbury’s Cakes in her portfolio. Before Manor Bakeries, Ursell worked in the marketing department of RJ Reynolds and Gillette. Her appointment frees Adriaan Eksteen to focus on light and speciality spirits. Ursell will be responsible for Jameson, Chivas Regal and The Glenlivet.
Chief executive of Pernod Ricard UK, Paul Duffy, said Venning and Ursell’s expertise in consumer marketing would be invaluable for brand building.
