Pernod Ricard has reported a 9.2% increase in net sales for the first-quarter to 30 September to E1.457bn.

The drinks group added that in Europe, sales rose 5% to E458m, although wine sales fell due to “the difficult situation of the British market and from the Russian embargo on Georgian wines”.

Patrick Ricard, CEO of Pernod Ricard, said: “The first quarter performance demonstrates to the vitality of group operations.”
