The producer of a new range of fruit crisps is targeting adults and children with a snack that provides one of their 5-a-Day fruit or veg portions.

Perry Court Farm says it plans to follow its apple crisps which launched into Selfridges and farm shops late last year with cherry and pear variants this summer. The company now hopes to gain wider distribution through mainstream retailers.

Each 25g bag, which contains 76 calories, features the 5-a-Day logo. The packs also flag up that the crisps are made from apples grown on the Kent farm and have been dried rather than fried, making them a healthier choice.

The company is planning to launch a chewy 5-a-Day fruit bar under the brand name Fruitigoo in the next two months.
