Tuscany-based wine producer Piccini has added a new wine to its Chianti range.

The wine has been made according to the "new" Chianti Superiore regulations introduced in 1996.

The rules allow producers to make wines from grapes grown in vineyards throughout the whole Chianti region.

"Through our vineyards and contracts with growers we have access to around 250 hectares of grapes throughout the region," said export and marketing director Martina Piccini. "This means the classification is perfect for us."

Piccini Chianti Superiore DOCG 2006 is launched this week, rsp £6.99.
