A satay paste based on pine kernels has been developed by Geo Organics as a nut-free alternative oriental paste for people with nut allergies.
The Geo Organics Thai Satay Paste with Pine Kernals, which also contains coconut milk, ginger, horseradish, lemongrass and garlic powder, is certified organic, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and non-GM. It is made in a nut-free factory.
Mike Batten, director of Venture Foods and its Geo Organics brand, said pine kernels are catching on as an alternative to nuts. "I plan to use pine kernels in other products to satisfy growing demand for nut-free products," he said.
