Champagne house Veuve Clicquot is launching its first non-vintage rosé through independent wine retailers and department stores.

The pink Champagne, which retails from £34.99, is made using 50 to 60 different crus and is based on Brut Yellow Label's traditional blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.

Cellar master Jacques Péters said: "The wine is full of freshness and gourmet delights, a pink symbol wine of spring."

The launch of Veuve Clicquot Rosé, which will be sold through Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, as well as independents, coincides with a UK boom in the sparkling rosé category, which is growing at 99% in value each year, according to ACNielsen [MAT to September 2005].
