Nampak Plastics, one of the UK's biggest plastic milk bottle manufacturers, has made a multimillion-pound investment in a reprocessing plant in the north east of England to improve its recycling credentials.

Nampak produces two billion HDPE plastic milk bottles a year in the UK, and aims to have them made with 30% recycled plastic by 2009. The plant will produce 13,000 tonnes of food grade recycled HDPE per year.
