Normal processing has resumed at Westbury Dairies after investigations into an alleged poisoning incident revealed milk supplies to the plant had not been contaminated.

The former United Milk dairy, which was bought out of receivership last month by three farmer owned co-ops, had quarantined all butter and milk powder made from direct suppliers’ milk since November 3, when an anonymous caller said he had poisoned the supply.

However, environmental health officers and the police have established that there was no threat, said the company, and all product has been released.
