Pork Farms is to pump £150,000 into workforce training and development.
The chilled savoury snack manufacturer joined forces with the TGWU to put in a bid to the DTI to co-fund the programme. The DTI has agreed to provide up to £50,000 through its Partnership at Work Fund. The money will be used to fund Pork Farms' workforce training skills programme to speed up and broaden workers' training and skills. The programme focuses on improving manufacturing standards and efficiency through giving factory employees a broader range of skillls.
Pork Farms general manager Berian Price said: "We are working closely with our employees and the TGWU to ensure everyone at Pork Farms continues to share in our vision of excellence."
