Bringing the pot snack closer to younger consumers is Bestfoods' Pot Noodle vending initiative. Pot Stop is a counter top unit which supplies hot water for the Pot Noodle purchase. Its currently available in more than 2,000 impulse outlets including Shell, BP and Bells stores and One Stop and Spar, and is being trialled in pubs. Channel development manager Gareth Toms says: "What we sell in vending is incremental to grocery sales. "We are also looking at doing the same with Knorr Tastebreaks although this will be targeted at a different sector such as the workplace." By September the company will also have 500 floor standing Pot Noodle vending machines called Pot Shop at schools and leisure centres. Available will be its three bestsellers ­ chicken and mushroom, beef and tomato and spicy curry ­ and a guest flavour. All come with a fork. {{FOCUS SPECIALS }}
