PG Tips is to get its first new pack design for three years, as part of Unilever Bestfoods' revamp of the brand in the latest round of tea market activity. Featuring an image of tea being poured, the new packaging follows hot on the heels of a new ad strategy in which animated plasticine puppets the T-Birds have replaced regular brand ambassadors, the PG chimps. It also follows a new look and new ads for arch rivals Tetley and Typhoo. PG's new image includes clearer communication of tea and health messages. It aims to modernise the brand while enhancing its plantation heritage and freshness. {{P&P }}
