Premier Foods has made two senior appointments to its marketing team.

Claire Harrison-Church joins in the newly created roll of director of strategic marketing. She was previously director of brand communications at Sainsbury’s, where she oversaw the move to its ‘Live Well for Less’ strapline. At Premier, Harrison-Church will be responsible for optimising marketing investment, media effectiveness and consumer PR.

Helen Warren-Piper comes aboard on 23 October as business unit director for savoury brands. She joins from United Biscuits where she has held a number of senior positions including business transformation director and marketing director for UK snacks. Warren-Piper will be responsible for driving the growth of Bisto, Batchelors, Loyd Grossman, Oxo and Sharewood’s.

Both arrivals will report directly to managing director Iwan Williams.

“Helen and Claire have extensive track records in leading retail and fmcg organisations and bring with them a wealth of experience,” Williams said.

“These new appointments come at an exciting time for Premier Foods as our strategy on focusing on our Power Brands is starting to gain traction and our portfolio is consistently gaining market share.”

Premier increased its consumer marketing spend by more than 40% in the first half of the year. The increase was primarily down to TV advertising campaigns running for seven of its eight power brands.
