With spirits companies concentrating on adding value rather than discounting this year, it seems the supermarkets have turned their attention to wine. This week the only brand in our Christmas Alcohol Pricewatch survey that fell in price was Hardys Stamp, down 13p from last week to 59p per 100ml. Even Stella Artois, plagued by heavy discounting over the past few years, has maintained its price this week, up 5p on this time last year. Two retailers - Tesco and Somerfield - weren't running any promotional deals on the lager.
